Today

To live and learn
And the will to choose;
Pre-determines the path,
Whether to win or lose
It is by choosing the road
That is at times hardest to take;
Knowing, it’s the goal and the dream
That you must not forsake.

You must always believe
In the good and the best;
By qualifying each day,
Regardless of the rest
It is by guarding your integrity
That which no one else can do for you;
For life is not a dress rehearsal
And the script is up to you.

Each person has struggles
And gifts that are innate
But the struggles hang around
Pretending to act as fate
That’s when you must predispose yourself
To the wisdom of those you trust;
To learn to honestly know yourself
And eliminate the judge.
